Changes in the Second Week of 2012 CRC Extension Season

As you start planning your 2012 hiking vacations for the summer and fall, however, I want to let you know about two unique changes this year during what typically has been the second week of Extension.

First, the Appalachian Mountain Club will be having their annual employee retreat this year at Cold River from the morning of Monday, September 10 through late Tuesday, September 11. Since they will have exclusive use of the Camp during those two days and nights, no guest reservations will be available for either Monday or Tuesday nights. Reservations will reopen for Wednesday, September 12.

Second, the Maine Chapter of the AMC will be hosting an open weekend from Thursday, September 13 through Sunday, September 16. Their activities will include hiking, biking and more in the valley. The weekend is open to all, and reservations will be taken as normal through the CRC registrar. We do expect Camp to be full for that weekend.
